Today is Melly's Garden birthday! Let me first wishing the place a success and keep rocking!

As promised, I will let you know how this place turned out. From the previous entry, you must be curious how great the new location now!

So, what do you think about this new place? Just like its name it has a nice garden and open air place. Just hoping when you're actually hanging out on Friday not to come when it's about to rain, you will get wet sitting on the bench outside the area.

ALL THE DROOLING FOODS

Gosh! Writing this making me want to eat them right now. This oxtail menu also something you must try if you happen to be in the place. The texture of the meat is so tender, as if like you don't need to process it inside your mouth. All the ingredients inside the soup, the pickles, and the chili paste will make your culinary experience going up to the next level!

This place open start from 6 AM every day. If you think you want to have breakfast early before a meeting or even take your meeting to an open air place. You come to the right place. With the various menu of foods, snacks, drinks and coffees, your tongue will be spoiled!

AN MUST-TRY DRINK

If you're not really into coffee but you want to just a little bit taste of it and still can drink it moderately. This is one of my best recommendation. It has vanilla ice cream in it and also a cappuccino flavor, and yet it's just so good!

DARE YOU BITE THE HOT GREEN CHILI

So, what are you waiting for? Come and be here. Bring along friends, colleagues, parents even your dates. At night, they will have some live band to sing your request song. Every night there will be a different group performance, though. Follow their Instagram for daily promotion @mellysgarden

As for Friday evening, don't come around 9-10 PM without booking the place. Why? Because the place usually will have a long waiting list.

Worry about how much you're gonna pay for all these delicious meal and drinks? Don't worry, everything various from IDR 30-40K for drinks and IDR 50-75K for the meal. Not bad right? Will be less than USD 10 for the drinks and meal!

For the past few weeks, I've been going back and forth to this place, more often. Until people and friends start asking if I just open a new business site or I work here. The answer to both of the questions I'll just drink to your wishes! #cheers

Let me tell you a story about this place. For me, this was not just a hangout place. But it's more like a 'second home' for a long while. A place where you can meet strangers and become someone important. A place where you can just sit and laughed and cry with someone you just meet. Also, a place where you can bring along long lost friends even dates to have a great time.

The place was small yet has a very rustic and old look, yet very warm and homey.

THE BAR

Nineteen years ago, Om Ivan (the retired bartender) had a plan with his bartender friends, to open a hangout place for themselves. From nine persons until only three left, holding the court at the old place in Jalan Jaksa by the name of BFC (Bartender Fans Club). When I was still in College, friends happened to bring me along here. Then, a few years later the three musketeers have another plan, which is going separated way.

Some said the place change name and move to another one. But, nobody seems to know where. Until I finally get introduce to Melly's Garden at Jalan Wahid Hasyim Raya. Speaking of which, they're one of the three musketeers that change course to another and use Bunbun Melly's name as the signature place. Sometimes people have mistaken the owner's name with one of the Indonesia famous singer band. You know who, don't you? *big grin*

THE OTHER CORNER

These pictures bring back all the memories, don't you think? I asked specifically for these photos to be posted in here. Because seeing these really take me back to that 'love corner.' The corner that has so many games and books if you're actually waiting for your friends to come. If you're too late, the all the games has been taken by others.

After five years, in this IBEC building, they were told to moved. Because the land actually being bought by some developer. I was afraid if they are going to get a new faraway place. Not that I won't go, I will; but won't be as often as I wanted to.

Don't you miss hanging out again to Melly's? Have you been to the new place? You'll be glad and surprise how the area is changed since last you were there.

WELCOME TO MELLY'S

So, this is actually the front entrance for the new location. If you're going inside the door there, you can find the coffee shop. Yeap, a coffee shop. They open a new range of Indonesian coffee now and start from early morning.

Stay awesome, darlings!

It's all started because of my friend Rani who just got back from traveling around the world opening an open trip to travel with her. The first time she posted it on her Facebook. I can't let go of my excitement to go. Then it grew stronger when finally she asked me for real to join the trip.

So, I did.

Everyone can dream about anything. I'm sure you have one in mind too when you read my first sentence there. I fulfilled some but this one just recently added to the crossed bucket lists.

Started this year with a dream trip. After more than 10 years haven't been outside this country, suddenly I dare myself again to go.

So, here we go. I feel so excited yet afraid of things that will surprise me along the way. Because this is not only one step away to a dream but also a plan for something else. Future.

I'm sure you have lots of information on the web on how to do the visa, itinerary etc in this blog you're not going to find that detail information. Sorry! I'm just going to tell you how to have a great trip with some people and have a great time.

One thing for sure it's your traveling group or buddy can cooperate and easy to work with. Especially if you do a backpacking. you definitely can't go with those spoiled brats you whine all the way no matter what the situation. This a big NO! Because you will be stressed along the trip and it's not gonna be fun and excited anymore.

It's better before you travel with some group or few friends, you let them know the condition or the trip. Like they will have to stay in the shared room because it's going to be cheaper. Tell them the reason too. We will be going on the public bus or train, because it's easier, closer to the places you want to visit or even just to let them experience with the local. Let them know every detail about being on the trip with you. If they think all the reasoning make sense, I'm sure there won't be any complaint during the trip. You can always hope for the best, right?

From here, you still need to take a bus or even quicker by taxi it's only KRW 5,000,- just divided within the groups. The rides will take you around 20mins by taxi.

BIG WINDOW

I know, I owe myself catching up some stories. Lots of stories to tell during the end of 2016. Yet, I can't seem to find myself writing anything in this blog. Now, I guess, as one of the resolution, I need to try, at least write something once a month, hopefully, this is not just a wishful thinking, again.

Promise to write all the late traveling thing in here, by giving you this short trip to Bandung, as a start. My best girlfriend needs to go for the weekend away because there will be a seminar for her thesis requirement, while I need a new place to get some pictures, from my Instagram collection. It's been ages since the last time I went on a road trip, so I'm excited to finally can leave Jakarta, even only for a weekend.

My friend chooses De'Halimun Guest House because it's closer to her seminar place. As for me, as long as they have free wifi, I'm taken care off #biggrin

We arrived a bit early in the morning, we thought we cannot check-in before noon, yet the nice lady at the receptionist is very accommodating, and we can check in, right away.

Just when I entered the room, I was so surprised, it's spacious and has this big window! I've been looking for in the old houses, back in the days. I'm just so happy to see this. Means, the process of taking pics will soon be arranged.

The room smell like a damp room, I guess, it's been a while since they open to room door or might as well the windows. Therefore, I opened the window, and look how gorgeous it is, actually!

I just laying down and just relaxing for sometimes, waiting for the other friend to hang out, while the other one already left for a seminar.

There is a leather sofa bench by the south corner of the room, and it's a bit spacious because the plan was to share the room with 3 of us until the other friend actually brings a husband-on-the-way. Should just tell us in advance so we can arrange another room for us. Anyway....

GARDEN CAFE

As the time flies, I was a bit hungry, but not really want to eat a heavy meal. I remember we can order something from the cafe. So, I get out from the room and see this beautiful settlement. All, empty chairs and tables, in white. For sure I took my phone camera and took this shot. It's just soo nice and comforting to see this. Don't you think it's a comfy place to chat over coffee and snacks?

I sit for hours and ordering some snacks and drinks here while waiting for the other friend to picked me up.

SAUSAGES AND FRIES

This snacks just my ultimate order in any restaurant or cafe that I don't really know yet how good the taste. So, this simple snacks always be my favorite. Because everybody will like to eat fries, and also for sure as long as they're not vegetarian, definitely goes by sausages.

It's only around IDR 25K for one serving. Quite affordable yet not too expensive even if you want to add another round, because still busy gossiping. Hehehe...

They have a quite various heavy meal, snacks, and drinks too. From Nasi goreng to Bandrek (local drink with gingery taste). The drink to warm your heart if it's cold #eaaakk

It's been drizzling since 3 PM, and it's getting colder, I wonder what will happen if it's getting hard during the night, I'm sure it will be freezing!

Have fun travelling!

Last weekend was not really fun for me. Why? Because having a friend telling me of the heartbroken situation, not really a comforting one. Thankfully, I'm one of those friends who you can call, in time like this. I've heard so many stories and getting involved in some of them. Still, never get used to them crying their heart out, especially men.

Sometimes, I can understand when men confused when facing their ladies crying. I guess, I kinda know how confusing it was. You can't ever rationalize what they have in mind, but you can always feel the way they feel if you recall your experiences.

To me, broken heart is a wonderful feeling. Crazy huh?

There are moments in life when you feel the unbearable pain inside, you just want to die. You would do anything just to make it go away, nothing can help to ease the pain. Alcohols, lots of weed even cutting your wrists, you tried everything but none helping you. The pain lingers.

You convince yourself, the need of that one person to heal you. Only that one person, can help you get through this painful experience. Too bad, honey, that one person also the one causing you the painful heartbreak. Then, what should you do? Just feel the pain. Feel with all you might. No matter how unbearable the feelings, just drink it all in. Feel it with all your might, even I know it hurts like hell. Cry if you must, but convince yourself to get up and face the world after.

This is sound so easy to read, but it's really not. I can write and tell you this because I've been there, done that, for some amount of time in this lifeline. Being stupid and lost myself in between, until I don't even know who I really am, and who am I suppose to become.

One thing for sure, all of this will pass. I'm not saying it's easy but it will pass, then you'll feel alive again, at some point. But, always remember this unbearable pains, if you can't handle it anymore, do not give you all to the one you love, until you really find the one you can truly love.

Because when you believe, the universe will conspire to fulfill it. Do you even know there is no gold at the end of the rainbow? But, surely there is love and happiness.

I pray that you will constantly be happier,
I pray that the sorrow in your heart will subside, eventually,
I pray and hoping that one day you can forgive yourself for being stupid,
I pray that someday, you can understand there is a moment when you need to love and care for yourself, more than anyone in your life.

Life is full of amazing and scary surprises, and it's just only the way we encounter them,
will give meaning to what is scary or amazing.

So, here I am, wishing and hoping you will always have a great life ahead, amazing friends!

Looking back, I can't believe it's been thirteen years. I just realize nothing good actually coming out from this blog. While some and more of my blogger friends evolved. Becoming a good writer and publishing some novels even book. They got a chance to go traveling for free because of their religiously writing on their blog.

While I just let it float and too busy with the reality of life.

August 2003, when I started my first writing in here, some kind of 'online request letter' from an online friend. I don't even know how he is doing right now, but hope all is great and awesome with him. Now, going back and looking all those writings, really make me feel old! haha...

All for the sake of learning how to write my heart out. Now, I will leave my thirties soon, how time flies when you try to have fun with life.

People learned from the past mistakes. Especially dealing with so many broken hearts, unhappy life and being rejected. I also learned the hard way of dealing with those, in private and professional way. Experiencing a different kind of jobs, meeting good, awesome and not-so-good bosses. Crying over difficulties in life, arguing with the parent, running away from life itself. I've done it all.

But, most of all, I do feel proud of myself, even though everything seems to fall apart. I still can keep my head upright, I can still be humble within, and just try not to get into trouble that much, other than being tipsy on some beer bottles *big-grin*

Now, life seems all good to me. So, I start to prepare myself and facing the life ahead with more positive attitude, more content and just BE HAPPY! I guess this is the key of all things. Traveling has given me more happy-go-lucky feeling, because I got a chance to do, what I love the most. Hopefully, this will get me to that happy place.

So, don't worry if you're in a confusing place right now. It's part of the recognition of your life. Someday, this will pass and you will remember how this feeling was, and just shrug it off.

From now on, just promise yourself to be happy, nothing will harm you of being in this state.

Pertemanan yang berulang selama hampir 5 tahun itu, tidak begitu terasa lama, rasanya. Karena disaat-saat tertentu, kami semua sibuk dengan urusan dunia masing-masing. Terutama jika sudah berhubungan dengan perasaan pada lawan jenis. Rasanya semua daya gravitasi lebih banyak teralihkan ke arah sana. Hingga untuk memikirkan bertemu dengan teman dekat pun, rasanya semua daya sudah terkuraskan. Oleh sebab itu, waktu berlalu begitu cepat bagi saya dan dia. Sekarang, hanya tinggal kita menikmati saja, yang seharusnya sudah direncanakan sejak pertama.
